Easy Dinner - Veal Shank Stew and Potatoes

It’s a classic recipe of veal shank stew with potatoes. This veal stew is delicious and easy to make. everyone will like it.

Easy Dinner - Veal Shank Stew and Potatoes

Ingredients: (4 people)

1 kg of shank (shank)
400 gram of small potatoes
1 onion
1 leek
2 carrots
1 sachet of saffron powder
1/2 red bell pepper
1/2 green pepper
200 ml white wine or apple juice
50 gram fresh peas
bay leaf to taste

First cut the shank into large pieces and we put a tad of salt, set aside.

In a pan, put 3 tablespoons olive oil and brown the meat on all sides over high heat.

In clay pot, which is where to prepare stews, put a couple of tablespoons of oil and stir fry the onion, leek, carrot slices, and peppers.

Add the meat to the pan and put a bay leaf, saffron and cover with white wine. If necessary, also add a cup of water and fresh peas.

Cook until the meat is almost done. It will take at least about 45 minutes over low heat.
Then add whole potatoes if using small potatoes, or split if using large potatoes.

Potatoes, depending on size, are in approximately 8 minutes. I do not prefer stirring the stew once potatoes are inside. Turn off the heat and let the pot.

Serve while hot.
